What goes in
Five things you would check yourself, checked for you
- The forecast for that spot on that day: temperature, precipitation, cloud
- Wind speed and direction, and whether it is steady or switching
- Barometric pressure and which way it is heading
- Moon phase and the solunar periods
- The rut, from a calendar of peak breeding dates by state, so a November 10th in Maryland and a January 15th in Alabama both read as peak
Deer, turkey and waterfowl each get their own weighting.
What comes out
Under the number: the best time window, three factors that moved the score with a sentence on each, a short strategy for the day, and any warnings (a front coming through at first light, a wind that will swing at noon).
Where to find it
On the map, or on its own
In the app, open any waypoint and tap Conditions, or open Conditions from the toolbar for wherever the map is centred. The standalone Field Ready page takes a town and a date if you are not using the map.
