I wear a 36x36. If you also wear something with a 36-inch inseam, you already know what this post is about, and you have probably already lost an evening to it.
Here is the specific frustration. You search for hunting pants in a 36 inseam. Amazon returns two thousand results. You click the first one — a Mossy Oak camo pant with 2,005 reviews and a 4.6-star average — and the size dropdown says Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL, 3XL. There is no inseam. There was never going to be an inseam. The listing ranked for your search because the words appeared somewhere on the page, not because the pant exists in your size.
So I did the thing I should have done years ago: I went through the major hunting apparel brands one at a time and read their actual size data — the live variant list behind each product page, not the marketing copy — and wrote down exactly which inseams you can actually put in a cart.
The short version: a true 36x36 hunting pant does exist. It is just almost never on Amazon, and the brands that solve this problem are not the ones with the biggest camo billboards.
What I Actually Checked, and How
Every number in this post came from the brand's own live product data on August 28, 2026 — the variant list that populates the size selector. Not forum threads, not other roundups, not memory. I want to be blunt about why that matters: nearly every "tall hunting pants" article I found while researching this repeats claims that are simply wrong.
One popular forum thread told me KUIU makes a 36 or 37 inch inseam. Half right. Their Guide PRO Pant maxes out at a 34, and so do the Axis Hybrid, the Encounter LT and the Groundwork. But the Attack Pant genuinely does go to a 37. If you had bought the wrong model on that advice you would have been returning pants.
Two caveats before the tables. Apparel size grids change every season, and popular sizes sell out and vanish from the selector — so treat this as a snapshot, and confirm before you buy. And I have not worn most of these. This is a sizing availability guide, which is the part nobody publishes; it is not a wear test.
Tier 1: Brands With a Real, Numeric 36x36
These are the ones where you select a 36 waist and a 36 inseam and add it to your cart. No guessing, no "Tall" that might mean anything.
Pnuma Outdoors — the best answer I found
Pnuma sizes several pants by waist and inseam and goes further than anyone else in this research: up to a 38-inch inseam.

At $129.99 the Pathfinder is the cheapest true 36x36 I found at a published price. (Fair caveat: First Lite does not list prices in the size data I pulled, so I cannot rule out one of theirs coming in lower.) The Pursuit is the one I would buy if I were buying today. Note the Waypoint quirk: it offers a 36-inch inseam, but not paired with a 36 waist — a good example of why "does this brand offer a 36 inseam" is the wrong question. The right question is whether your specific combination exists.

First Lite — the deepest bench
First Lite offers a true 36x36 across nine different pants, all in waists 30 through 44, all with inseams of 30, 32, 34 and 36: the 308, 308 Brush, 308 Wool Tracker, 308 Lined, 308 Whitetail, Phase, Granite Field, Gravel Field and Trace 5-Pocket.
That is the widest selection of genuinely tall-sized hunting pants from any single brand I looked at. If you want options rather than one option, this is where to start.
The catch, and it is a real one: four of their other pants stop at a 35-inch inseam — the Obsidian Foundry, Corrugate Foundry, Catalyst Foundry, and the Trace Pant. Read that last one twice: the Trace 5-Pocket goes to a true 36, and the Trace Pant stops at 35. Two different pants, nearly the same name, on the same website. That is the single easiest way to order the wrong thing on this list.
Tier 2: Longer Than 36 — KUIU

KUIU skips 36 and goes to 37. For a 36-inseam guy that is either a small gift or a small annoyance depending on your tolerance for a hem — I would rather have an inch too much than an inch too little, since one is a $15 tailoring job and the other is unfixable.
The Attack Pant also has the widest waist range in this entire guide at 30 to 46, which makes it the standout if you are tall and carrying a bigger waist. That combination is the hardest one to shop for and almost nobody serves it.

Tier 3: Brands That Offer "Tall" But Won't Tell You What That Means
This tier annoys me and I want to explain why rather than just list it.
These brands do make tall pants. But they size them as Tall, or T, or LT — and then do not publish the inseam anywhere on the product page. You are being asked to spend two hundred dollars on the promise that their idea of tall matches your body. For a customer whose entire problem is that standard sizing does not fit, "trust us, it's longer" is not an answer.

FORLOH deserves specific credit: Tall spanning waists 28 to 44 is the broadest tall grid I found anywhere. They just need to print the number.
Sitka is the disappointment. They are the most recognizable name in this category, and their tall option on the Timberline exists in exactly three waists. If you are a 32 or a 40 and tall, Sitka has nothing for you.
Tier 4: The Amazon Reality Check
I want to be direct, because this is the part that cost me the most time over the years.
Searching Amazon for tall hunting pants mostly does not work. The results rank on keyword relevance, not on whether the size exists. I pulled the top results for "hunting pants 36 inseam" and checked what you can actually select:

- Search the brand, not the marketplace. Go straight to the maker's site and look at the size selector before you read a single word of product copy. Thirty seconds tells you whether the brand is worth your attention.
- Check your exact combination, not the brand's maximum. The Pnuma Waypoint offers a 36 inseam and a 36 waist and not together. This is common.
- Check the specific model, not the brand. First Lite has nine pants in a true 36x36 and four that stop at 35. Same brand, same website.
- Treat 37 as a win. An inch long is a cheap alteration. An inch short is a pant you will resent every time you sit down in a stand.
- If a brand won't publish the inseam, ask before ordering. Their support team knows the number. Getting it in writing costs you one email and saves a return.

Do any hunting brands make a 38-inch inseam?
Pnuma does, on the Pursuit, Pursuit Zip-Off and Waypoint. That was the longest true inseam I confirmed in hunting-specific apparel.
Is "Tall" the same as a 36 inseam?
No, and that is the core problem with lettered tall sizing. Tall typically adds one to two inches over a brand's regular length, which usually lands somewhere around 34 to 35 — not 36. Unless the brand publishes the number, assume Tall is shorter than you need and ask.
Can I just buy a 34 inseam and size up the waist?
It does not work. Adding waist adds rise and a little length, but nowhere near two inches, and you end up with a pant that is baggy in the seat and still short at the boot. Length and girth are separate problems.
Why does inseam matter so much for hunting specifically?
Because you spend the day in positions that eat length. Climbing into a stand, sitting on a bucket, kneeling on a ridge — every one of those pulls the hem up your boot. A pant that is merely acceptable standing in your kitchen rides up to mid-calf the moment you sit down in 20-degree weather, and then the gap between your boot top and your cuff becomes the coldest part of your body.
